Top Ten Things to Do in Prince William County Virginia:
#6 -- Prince William County Fair

Even as the county welcomes more innovation and technology, one thing remains a sure thing: the Prince William County Fair – the largest in the Commonwealth!

For 61 years, local residents and visitors – 60,000+ in a nine-day stretch – have been gathering at the fairgrounds for exciting end-of-summer thrills.

Maybe it’s riding high above the county at night on the Ferris wheel to look at the twinkling lights, above and below. Maybe it’s the smells and tastes of grilled sausage, funnel cakes, lemonade and cotton candy.

Maybe it’s the sounds of live country music, the crash of the demolition derby, the roar of the truck & tractor pull and other grandstand shows. Maybe it’s the sight of a cow being milked, the beautiful baby contest being judged or a leather craft demonstration.

Walk among the livestock barns and home arts building to see blue ribbon goats, pigs and chickens, as well as best of show pies, cakes, homegrown vegetables, honey, quilts and photography.

You can’t leave until you’ve played so many midway games, you trudge home with a huge stuffed animal in the arms of your sweetie. And then come back again the next night!
