Writers For a Cause

One of the great things about this website is meeting great people in the community.  Kindred spirits who want to make Prince William County (and the world) a better place.  An example is the lady behind the website WritersforaCause.org who contacted me recently (she'd read one of my letters to the editor in the local paper) about her website.  So, I wanted to write a quick blog post to let folks know about the great things they do.

The motto of Writers for a Cause is "Spreading Goodwill Through Good Reads." And, it's a great concept. Basically, writers who write interesting books gather at that website and allow the general public to purchase their books directly from the writer and usually at a lower cost than they'd otherwise pay.

And, even better, the writer donates profits from the book sale to charities that make the community better. Specifically, to non-profits that provide health care to those who need it (and can't afford it); food to the hungry; support for the homeless; foster the arts; educate adults and children; conserve the environment; assist the disabled; and preserve historic treasures.

So, Writers for a Cause do all sorts of great things to make the world a better place. And, you can help, simply by purchasing books directly from them.
