I am a current resident, homeowner, and tax payer of Prince William County. Throughout the past school year the county has decided to post a sign on the grounds of Springwoods Elementary school banning dogs from school grounds. In the subscript of this sign it says it it unlawful to allow animals to urinate, defecate or run at large on publicly owned property.
This does not make sense to me as publicly owned property means that the public pays to have that property maintained and should be able to enjoy the property with actions such as dog walking, exercising, and sports.
I am a lawful dog owner and am appalled at this sign being posted. Thank you for your time.
